BEGINNER GUIDE

Stop asking Claude for text. Ask for the finished thing.

Claude can now build a document, a slide deck or a one-page design right inside your chat, on every plan including Free. Here's when to use each and five prompts that work.

Which one do I want?

  • Docs: a living document you and your team edit together; exports to Word, PDF, Google Docs.
  • Slides: a deck you can present from Claude or download as PowerPoint or PDF; goes straight to Google Slides.
  • Design: a one-pager, a mockup or a clickable prototype.

How it works in 30 seconds

Ask in any chat. Claude builds it. Click to edit a word yourself, or tell Claude what to change. Share the link with your team, or download it.

Five prompts to try today

1. Turn notes into a 5-slide update.

Turn these notes into a 5-slide update for my team: a one-line summary up front, then what we finished, what's next, the risks, and the decisions we need.

2. Make a one-page project brief.

Make a one-page project brief from what I paste below: the goal, who it's for, the deadline, what's in and out of scope, and the open questions.

3. Build a client-ready proposal from a call transcript.

Here's a transcript of a client call. Build a client-ready proposal from it: their problem in their words, what we'll do, the timeline and next steps. Flag anything they asked that we didn't answer.

4. Turn this report into a deck that matches it.

Turn this report into a deck that matches it: same headings, same numbers, one main point per slide. Don't add any number that isn't in the report.

5. Design a one-page event flyer.

Design a one-page flyer for this event: [name, date, place]. A big headline, three reasons to come, and how to sign up.

What's the catch

Check numbers before you send; Claude drafts, you sign off. On Enterprise, admins control them in Organization settings. The old claude.ai/design site closes December 14; move design systems from the Artifacts page.
